大阪市淀川区にある「クレイジム」は、アマチュアボクシングをメインに指導。
クレイという名前のとおりローマオリンピックのライトヘビー級の金メダリスト「カシアス・クレイ」(Clay Casias)ことモハメド・アリ(Ali Muhannmad)をモチーフにしている。
というのも、会長である白 茂雄さんは昭和５５年度西日本新人王のチャンピオンで、引退後ボクシングを愛する後発を育てるためクレイジムを創立。
彼が、ボクシングをするきっかけにもなり、又、最も憧れのボクサー、カシアス・クレイ(Clay Casias)ことモハメド・アリ(Ali Muhannmad)というわけだ。
カシアス・クレイ(Clay Casias)ことモハメド・アリ(Ali Muhannmad)が丸太小屋のジムを自分で造り、そこでトレーニングしていた。
その雰囲気をこのクレイジムは受け継いでいる。
白 会長の指導するボクシングのスタイルも、かつてのカシアス・クレイ(Clay Casias)ことモハメド・アリ(Ali Muhannmad)が「蝶のように舞い、蜂のように刺す」ごとく、素早いステップワークと目にも止まらぬ早さのカウンターの正に「打たせずに打つ！」式のアウトボクシングスタイルである。
又、このクレイジムはアマチュアボクシングのみだけでなく、女子ボクシングや女性のフィットネスを中心としたステップボクシングも指導し、そこから多くの素晴らしい女子ボクサーを出した。
